Full name: Celena Dechiel
Nickname, Pseudonym, Alias: None Age: Twenty-years-old Gender: Female Orientation: Heterosexual Race: Her strongest roots are French and Hispanic; 57% French, 28% Hispanic (descendants from Spain), and the rest comprised of tinier percentages; 5% German, 3% English (Great Britain), and 2% Welsh. Ethnicity: She considers herself Caucasian. Spoken languages: English Occupation: Celena is attending Open Mind university. She also works to help pay for her books and education (with payment help from her mother), and her job is working cash register at a small art store in Oso. It was given to her by the friend of Celena's mother who assumed artistry had anything to do with costumer service. For all it's faults, it's a stable job and better than nothing. Position: As someone who loves art, for monetary reasons, Celena is not focused on majoring in anything artistic. For now, she remains undecided, but has thought about something in cryptography or anthropology. |
|| Appearance: Celena comes from a family of tall ladies, so she's about 5'8" (equal height of her mom). Her hair is full and blonde, about shoulder length, and she has a part on her right cut so that her bangs are side-swept and fall above her eyebrows. Celena has thin shoulders and arms and she isn't very chesty. Coupled with a long neck and blue eyes, she has high, but soft, cheekbones. She also has thin eyebrows, and they look sharp when utilized with the right expressions.
|| Attire: Celena is a very casual dresser but has some popular style preferences. She loves to wear combinations of loose shirts with slim pants, and usually couples simple pattern shirts over a matching tank top with necklaces that have big ornaments. She also likes to wear bracelets both thin and a little larger, such as a charm bracelet she is frequently seen wearing. Her shoes are usually heeled, but never overly tall. She loves wedged booties, and on days she doesn't wear them, she'll wear nothing with arches—flats or Converse, more likely the former but the latter on occasion. On days she doesn't wear any combination of clothes above, she has been known to wear a pair of dusty jeans and a sweater as casual home wear, and she usually sleeps in things like sweat pants and baggy shirts, so on days she's sick, she'll just wear that. She usually wears a shoulder bag to carry stuff around, like books and papers.
|| Personality ||
Celena possesses independent confidence in all things except one (which is the topic of her father). She's neither introverted or extroverted, but she occasionally decides to go out in public and have a cup of tea at a cafe, though she also lives very happily without speaking actively with people or strangers. She's extroverted in the sense that she gets energy being out in public with people, but she sort of absorbs it quietly without needing interaction. At home, she likes to sketch, and rarely does anything more with her drawings than just pencil lead on a paper. She likes to watch TV while she sketches (for white noise), but she never knows what's happening on anything she's genuinely interested in watching, so she always plays things like the news, or night time television, comedy skits, ect. Sometimes she watches movies with her roommate on weekend nights.
|| History ||
The Dechiel family lived in a one-story house in Cloudesdale, as her mother's job was a financial consultant. As a baby, her mother was always the one that took care of Celena. When her mother went back to work post-maternity leave, Celena's grandmother took care of her. Her father rarely was in her life. He spent a lot of his time working both out of home and in his home office, and when Celena was little, she tried to draw him out of his office and spend time with him. He did every so often, because he felt bad he wasn't there much, but he had a minor work obsession. He was also obsessed with the supernatural, which he rarely felt comfortable expressing because no one heard him out seriously. These things combined consumed his life and so Celena didn't always have him there for her.
She played violin when she was younger, and tried viola (neither of these things got much more reaction out of her father, however, though he did show up at concerts when he felt he could; Celena's mother was always supportive of Celena's musical pursuit). When she was about thirteen, she stopped playing music, and picked up piano when she was about sixteen or so because she missed playing and her mother missed hearing her play. It was always a casual thing, much like Celena's artistry in drawing, which began when she was about ten and never stopped. When she was about fourteen, she met a smart, introverted blonde with flat hair and black glasses and round face and they became good friends. The two spent a lot of time together, and later, Celena shared an apartment with her after graduation.
When Celena was seventeen, her father died. It was very sudden, a blood clot, and shattered her tiny family. Celena's grandmother, who helped take care of her when she was an infant, returned to constant household visits while the three of them tried to pick themselves up. Both Celena and her mother were the most distraught, and it took several weeks before her mother could open his home office (not without many tears as well). There was a kind of unspoken agreement between the two of them at this time—they wept and sobbed at his death, his funeral, visited his grave a week or so post-funeral, but never again. They didn't hate him, they didn't dislike him, they felt nothing negative toward him, except that both felt just a little under-appreciated. Neither of them would speak badly of him, but it was something they had to acknowledge and couldn't pretend wasn't a reality.
However, both of them took it fairly different ways. Celena always felt incomplete as a result of it, she was of the mindset that she needed something she didn't have to be fully loved by her father. As someone who was feeling empty of her father's love, it's no wonder she made the assumption that there's something in her life that she doesn't have yet and she feels a little imperfect. She doesn't know what it is either, but she assumes it's the usual things, like the right thing to say, or the perfect temperance.
A few likes:
1. She likes (spice) tea! And hot chocolate, and coffee so long as it's sweet.
2. Her favourite foods are Italian, especially things like pasta with alfredo.
3. She likes people who are sweet and caring, she prefers to surround herself by those people, and especially likes it in potential partners.
4. She likes to draw, as I've already expressed, it's a casual pastime of hers.
5. She's fascinated by hieroglyphs and the like, other cultures in general are very interesting to her and she loves to immerse herself in the roots of it. She probably gets that from her father.
A few dislikes:
1. Of the same vein, she doesn't like people who are rude or intentionally ignorant. Since she's traditionally very independent, she just leaves them alone, but if they're people who might be more frequent in her life, she treats them neutrally.
2. Being treated or having those close to her treated unfairly and disrespectfully.
3. Bitter things, like medicine.
