Seventeen as the number of hope
The eighteenth movement
In the desolate land where the tower stood, sat the Fool on the stones nearby the wood. Empty and saddened, he wishes to find a hopeful light to guide his mind. After all he knew became a lie, he gazes upwards at the night sky. Twinkling bright, the many stars shine. He can't find one he could call "mine". Then suddenly the Fool his gaze turns and spots by the lake one with two urns. A beautiful maiden with long golden hair. She kneels by the water with utmost care. One urn of water she empties in the pool. The sparkles reflected entrance the Fool. The other she pours upon the dry land which turns to lush grass from sand. "What are you doing?" the Fool asks. In the starlight the maiden basks. She looks up at him and smiles bright, and answers the Fool in an honest light: "I am refilling this pool so the thirsty may drink." From behind the bushes for a sip comes a mink. "And watering the earth so the hungry may eat." Nearby a tree bears its fruit amidst golden wheat. "Come, he who many lands has traversed. Sate your hunger and quench your thirst." The Fool plucked some fruit and sat beside her and drank, which made his clouded skies clear. Content, he lies on his back to gaze at the stars, yet it is as though he is locked behind bars. "They are so beautiful, yet so distant." He notes whist the nightingales chant. "Indeed, like the possible futures - s far and bright. Yet any one can guide you, if it's kept it in sight." the maiden says as she begins to fade away, like the beautiful stars at the break of day. Her remaining gleam flew up like a dove and became a star that shined above. Nothing was left of the beautiful girl. Only her words around the Fool twirl. "Follow your star, no matter how tall, for hope is what shall save us all." |
