Five as quintessence, the power that exceeds the four elements
The sixth movement
Confidently walking down the path he chose, a sudden fear within the Fool arose. What if all his work thus far came to naught? What if he lost all that he sought? The thought of having everything break apart worried sick our dear Fool's heart. To ease the stress upon his young soul he entered a temple where many would go. There a hierophant sat on a throne. With wisdom and whit he shone above the heads of everyone else, who listen carefully to the stories he tells. Honoring the sage, the Fool inquires how he can extinguish these worrisome fires. "Either give up what you fear to lose, or wait for fear to pass is what you can chose. In both cases nothing is completely lost. Though what you've built may be the cost, the experience gained from all your travels will surely aid you in future battles." "But what of my friends and those around me? Would they not abandon the failure they see?" asked the Fool as he thought about all those who his journey still doubt. "If you stand up and admit your defeat, that enough is a tremendous feat. They will believe you have done your best and your friendship shall not be put to rest. Tell your friends of your beliefs and fears. You shall see then how the sky clears." Such was told to the Fool that day. He went to his friends without delay and told them all he wished to say. In believing his right he did not sway. The people believed in his journey's right. The next day the Fool set out in delight. |
